Just spotted the repellant spray on the link you sent me. I think I'll give that a shot too, can use it to keep the little horrors off me as well as the hound!

Dio is a beauty.
We use a Seresto collar on Charlie. He wears it from March through to October. I’m not sure how it works but he’s nearly 7 and I can’t remember him ever picking up a tick.

We get it from our vet but it’s readily available from lots of places online.

Phoebe used to get ticks every summer when using over the counter stuff.

We went onto Bravecto through the vets and not had any issues since.

Roberto - I can’t offer anything other than the glib suggestion that you keep ignoring the protestations from his crate. He can be safely ignored if he doesn’t need anything (i.e. he’s safe, been fed, isn’t thirsty and doesn’t need the loo) and he’ll be very quick to learn that he can summon you on demand by whining if you let him! A reverse version of ‘recall’ training on his terms ;-)

I do appreciate that ignoring the whining is easier said than done. Earplugs might allow one of you to get some sleep, if one of you wants to be ‘on duty’ and listening for any genuine signs of doggy distress while the other tunes out?

I don't suppose anyone has recommendations for big dog crates (100cm or larger)?

There are a lot out there but that size seems to be either out of stock or very expensive. I'm not sure Biscuit will take to crate training so would rather not spend a lot if it's no good.

We've got one that we rarely (never) use if you'd like to borrow it Carp to see how you get on. It's huge (way too big for Wanda) although I don't know the exact size. But you could come and have a look at it and see what you think and borrow it for a couple of weeks or so. We keep it in case we go and stay in a hotel or somewhere where we might need to crate her but although we have done so once or twice it is not exactly a regular occurance!
