Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

This was one of the few pictures where she wasn't eating it. Obedience classes might have to be next.

Albie is doing really well at the moment.

He’s on steroids for a few months and has perked up considerably.

The steroids have some downsides (increased thirst, increased weeing, increased hunger and loss of muscle) but they also have some unexpected upsides!

As his energy is slightly reduced and his food obsession is increased, he has become an absolute dream on walks. I’ve been able to have him off lead without worrying about other dogs (and scanning for potential tempting dogs ie any dogs running). He pays attention to me, comes as soon as I call (for food!) and doesn’t want to pester and jump on other dogs, but is greeting more appropriately and playing sometimes. My dog walker has noticed similar things.

Fingers crossed it sticks when he comes off the steroids! 🤞🤞🤞

He’s still a pain in the evenings after I’ve been at work 😂

It's great that Albie is responding well to the steroids. Meningitis is an awful thing to get - lucky it was caught early.

My Luna nearly died in last November with bacterial meningitis of all things. That is very rare in dogs. She spent 6 nights in vets and completely lost the use of her back legs.

When we got her home we had to use a sling to help her get around. Over the following weeks she gradually got the use back and after 4 months (in March) she was well enough to enter a canicross 5k race. The idea was to just get around but she doesn't understand that so we won it ;)

She still have a strange leg sweep (nerve damage I think) when she walks very slowly but at pace she seems 100% again.

The things dogs put us through!!
