And apparently he’s that rehydrated he’s tinkling everywhere except outside 😀
He’s been going a bit senile for a while and having accidents in the house. 10 is a very good age for a Bulldog. Luckily he appears to be well bred, so he hasn’t suffered with genetic ailments.

We had two bulldogs when I was a teenager. The first one I think only made it to 8 or 9 and I can't remember how old George got to but 10 is indeed a good age.

Glad to hear Boris is doing better.
I’m really struggling at the moment. A lot of things are getting better (sleeps through night, I can get out for short runs when he’s sleepy). However it’s still 2 days before he’s allowed outside post vaccination and we’re going stir crazy. He’s getting very bitey - the worst is when he goes into full puppy play bite mode. He darts at me growling and barking, nipping my legs (which really hurts). I can’t catch him (he’s too fast) and that becomes a game anyway for him. I can’t get away from him without pulling him along (attached to leg) which also becomes a game. And I challenge anyone to stay still and not react in that situation. And playing with him can rapidly descend into the above.
I’m trying to do training but he’s not engaging well with that either (except for the occasional minute or so).
I just hope going outside helps - I know it’ll probably be challenging at first and I’ll not be able to let him off lead due to no recall yet.
Oh roll on Wednesday (though I’m at work in the morning).

I think Callie has learnt a few sweary words from me whilst hanging off my leg/slipper/dressing down as I try to leave the room! If it is any consolation am struggling too - the wee madam is driving us crazy just wants attention all the time. My sister is down for Xmas(extended household so allowed) and is probably a life saver. I have however told her if she wants to go home early I will understand. Early morning 4am starts and barky nippy puppy do not make for a relaxing break. Silver lining though - the days we have taken her out - yesterday we went for a walk round a local pond and then to pets at home in the car so she met loads of people and dogs - she has been more chilled the rest of the day and had her sleeping in front of the TV with cat on window ledge in same room. When we do the training exercises she can be impeccably behaved but if there is something else she'd rather be doing no chance!

It’s really tough isn’t it shyfire. It helps hearing other’s experiences though and know you’re not alone.
We’re going to the garden centre tomorrow (today my friend is busy and it’s too hard to manage just me alone). Good to hear Callie is more chilled on days you’ve got out - it gives me hope. Roll on Wednesday!!

What training exercises do you do? I feel I’m in a bit of a scattergun approach at the moment - a bit disorganised, which probably doesn’t help. I do some boundary games (from absolute dogs), sit and down though these have become very hit and miss after being fairly good, and some loose leash training in the kitchen (usually lasts about 2 minutes!!)
He looks out the window now and whines
He’s lovely when he’s snoozy.

It does get better. The socialisation of getting out and about will tire them out. Just don’t overdo it or they’ll be too tired. I’ve got an Absolute Dogs Leash Off Game On DVD if anyone wants it. Lots of games to encourage proximity.

We are still working on basics - sit and down both trying to extend them. Stay is problematic she doesnt. Working on place and settle to get her to sit down on blanket. Lots of fetch and drop which she can do about 10 times then lose interest. Trainer says focus on one a a time little and often. Recall is hit and miss responds well to come sometimes. Have started feeding some meals in a snuffle mat and toy that rolls and distributes the kibble to keep her busy as well.downside to this is she is now trying to pick up her water bowl

I had to buy heavy ceramic large water bowls as he learned to pick up and flip his water bowls early on 🙄 (possibly because he gets fed with a Kong a lot - I’d never made that connection!)
Yes the staying in position is tough. He can do sit but it’s unreliable so I wouldn’t say he really knows it. He tries sit as a position he knows gets rewarded but not always to command. And if he’s in a distractable mood then nothing goes.
