Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Pokes (wet) nose round door - we had a 2nd meeting with rescue dog tonight, this time at home. He's very sweet but quite nervous. We've never had a dog before so brace yourselves for 1 million stoopid questions. Been lurking a while! Fingers crossed he will be our dog!!!

Dog walker brought Arlos Xmas present round yesterday. A box full of things for him. A toy with his initial on, home-baked biscuits, a tub of pooch and mutt Christmas Dinner treats and a personalised bauble with a picture of him in. Our present for her hasnt arrived unfortunately but we wouldn't have managed this year without her, especially when we were isolating and had also tested positive and she came everyday and was so flexible and supportive towards us.

She also takes great pictures.

Lovely Roberto!
And good luck JC!

What high value treats have other people used for puppies for training (not quite 3 months).

I have chicken. I use peanut butter, banana and yoghurt on lickimat/in Kong. I’m not confident about liver pâté (which one?) or sausage (again what to avoid) and at present getting liver to cook is a bit beyond me. Mostly looking for something easy.

Whatever the dog likes. Make it exciting (lots of silliness and noise) and the dog will like it. The plainer the better for sensitive tums.
Some dogs aren’t food orientated, but toys or fuss work just as well for a reward.

I sometimes used to use that squeezy cheese in a tube - squeeze out a tiny bit and let the dog lick it.
