Frankie barks at people walking by the front of the house, and at letters through the door etc. Yesterday our neighbour had a digger in to remove a lot of rubble from his front garden, and he has continued working on it today.
Working from home in the same room as Frankie I've found it a bit wearing - he's loud. Fortunately many people are working from home and have similar issues, so there was understanding when he sounded off half way through my contribution to a conference call with our contacts at the European Space Agency this morning....

That sounds pretty exciting, Frankie just wanted to be included.

I currently apologise in every meeting I go in as arlo is always asleep on the sofa next to me, but inevitably, as soon as the meeting starts, he is up and on my lap and his face in front of the camera.

He also barks at everyone who goes past the window or posts something, including his walker who goes past every day and he adores. He also loves the postman who gives him treats on our walk but not if he only sees him through the window.

We live on a busy country park path... Skye's ok with that, unless she hears voices or dogs, and then she goes nuts! She also goes nuts when the neighbours go out... even if it's only to their bin... because it echoes quite loudly into our place because of the layout. Delivery drivers get another bark, as do either of us if we go up the stairs without talking to her... and if a bird or plane dares to fly over the garden... well!! So, tired is good, it means less barking!

Mega exciting day for Callie, I got her on her first 'proper' walk round the block on a lead rather than up 1 or 2 houses and then back. We've been trying a little since Saturday now she's fully vaccinated. It was slow and I let her go at her pace. She also met 4 people and 2 friendly little dogs who she turned back for and seemed to be asking to go and meet. Had a good sniff. Yesterday she met a very placid bigger dog (1st dog outside litter mates) but was shaking like a leaf. Feel a little more reassured she coped better today. Proud pup mamma. She does however need to learn 'on the floor' since has discovered can reach lots more things on her hindlegs. And when not looking can manage the step down into the conservatory - one more slightly bigger step and she wont need carried into the garden anymore which should make housetraining easier. I also have a session with a local trainer booked on Sunday. Puppy socialisation classes are proving harder since we are in tier 4 lockdown and those I have spoken to are fully booked until march.

Sounds really good Shyfire!
3 weeks until Albie can go out. Hopefully it will make a difference when he can. I haven’t even looked at classes yet. Had 2 sessions with a trainer though and have access to her online puppy training course.

Flossie had her 6-week post-op x-ray today. All looking very good and positive but:
- they had trouble finding a vein in her leg to get the sedative into her so she now has sore bald patches on three legs :-(
- the operated-on leg, which was looking better than it's been for months when we took her in, in terms of her not limping, and having a good stable gait, must be feeling quite sore from all the manipulation they put it through, and she's clearly feeling quite bruised and unhappy :-( Fingers crossed she'll be back on form tomorrow.

She has to go back again in a month and only then will they sign her off. It's good that they are being very cautious but it is a bit frustrating.

Thank you MN!
I shall be armed with frozen kongs and lickimats!
And I start at 10 so will drive him somewhere to observe the world before - new smells and experiences to hopefully tire him out.

Will report back...
