Albie has been very hyper today.
We had a good socialisation trip to the pet store this morning and he’s slept loads since. But now I just cannot interact with him - he just barks and bites - he’s only been awake 40 mins after a 2 hour sleep. He then gets frustrated and wants me to interact even more upping the biting and barking.
It’s so hard.
I try really hard to understand his point of view. He’s over excited and doesn’t know how to control it and just wants to play. Going out is something that will fill his stress bucket.
He’s 10 weeks today. I feel like I’ve had to ignore him a lot today or put him down for lots of naps.
I so hope it gets better.

Wear him? If you mean carry around - he gets restless and fights it pretty quickly unless we’re outside but that is quite demanding on him and he can only tolerate so much. I’ve put him down for another nap in the crate and he’s settled fast so maybe the trip to the pet shop (with car journey) wore him out a lot and he’s being a fractious toddler.
Tomorrow is another day... It’s just so hard when he cries barks and growls in an overexcited frenzy. I know he’s trying bless him (in both senses of the word!!)

I remember those days Pen. Stick in- it gets better! We still have the hyper naughty biting times but they are much fewer.

We are currently being challenged by barking: at her reflection in the conservatory roof, at music, and at *anything* that flies over the garden...
It's exhausting. Utterly exhausting. The reflection NEVER goes away, so if she's hyped at anything, then she flies off the handle at this, but even just catching sight of herself can set her off. Vertical surfaces are fine, but the conservatory roof is not one of those. ðŸ˜

I don’t have anything practical to offer, but if Rory was a human, today he’d be someone in the pub looking for a fight. Luckily for him, he’s not in the pub, so he had to make do with tearing a cardboard box to pieces.

We are at 17 weeks. He has just barked non stop with his little piercing barks for the whole thirty minutes we ate our dinner, despite having had a good, busy and tiring day, so we are far from perfect yet. But definitely better!
