Ah! I'm trying LEFT and RIGHT already on walks.

It's been a challenging 10 days as we've ALL been home ALL day due to the kids having an exposure at the childminder's. The dog has been walked, as we can still go out, but that's about it. She's gone a bit mental with over-stimulation tbh, and we can't wait for the kids to go back to school tomorrow!!

That sounds tough WL.

First day back at work since I got Albie. I’m only in for the morning and my friend (who works from home is coming round to puppy sit).

Not yet managed a shower but I’ve had breakfast and made my lunch so that’s a good first step! Friend coming at 7:45.

I have so much more respect for parents (having never been one myself)! I’m keeping myself going by telling myself that things will get easier over the next few weeks/months.

I’m looking into care for new year when I’m at work on Fridays. Not easy to even get a response to enquiries. Many dog walkers/sitters seem to be full. Fingers crossed I find someone good.

my border collie pup is 5 and a half months old now. Would love to do canicross with him when he is old enough, but I can't keep up with him now so could be amusing for others to watch! I have visions of him dragging me along the ground :D

Pen - when we first got him it was such a shock, puppies really require so much time and effort. We didn't bother getting a pen - it might have made life easier for a small amount of time I think but he would be able to jump over it now. He is calming down a bit, and we are getting better at dealing with him too.

Despite Wanda coming from Battersea and thus really not liking kennels we would send her to kennels for the day if we both had to be out at work all day because we found it was better for her to have people constantly about than leaving her at home and the dog walker taking her out then being left again for another 4 hours till we returned.

Unfortunately Wanda wasn't able to go to 'doggy daycare/creche' where she would be in the same area as lots of other loose dogs hence choosing kennels. It wasn't ideal but the staff were really kind and good with her and on balance it was the least worst of the options available. We would have done it more often if the owner hadn't had a strict policy of if you don't pick your dog up by 5pm it stays overnight - as we couldn't always guarantee to be there and the time I got stuck in traffic and got there at 5.10pm I found they would not bend the rules and I had to go back the next morning for her.

I know businesses need to have boundaries, but that does seem a bit...rigid.

I think Rory gets most of his sleep when I’m out. I know from times I’ve forgotten something and come back that he’s in bed within minutes of me leaving and the dog walker sometimes complains that she has to go upstairs and get him up (he’s not reluctant to go with her, he’s just sleeping :-) ) If I’m around too much he starts to look at me as if he’s thinking ‘I’m tired. Isn’t it time you left my house so I can have some quiet time?’

Lovely walk with arlo this morning.....

He ran into the woods and started eating something. From the smell, it was human s***.

Just lovely.

Dogs can be vile, can't they. Poppy (my daughter's lab) eats her own if you don't watch her.
