Jet, English Cocker Spaniel (working type), b July 2012, enjoys Agility.
Jet comes from a gun-dog litter that was trained to be silent. He has discovered his bark since we moved here and likes to reply to the yappie-dogs that pass our front door.
Poor eyesight, amazing sense of smell. One of his litter siblings Is a police search dog.

I'm enjoying reading about everyone's dogs! I did NOT know what breed Ernie or Wanda were, so that's been nice.
Has anyone used Absolute Dogs for training? I REALLY need to start focusing on training Skye, but puppy classes are booked until January, and that is too late. Also, thing are likely to be cancelled now aren't they?
My dad was always a negative trainer, rather than a positive one, and I want to be a positive trainer with Skye. It's going to be challenging for me to learn that change.

I’m reading/looking at the Absolute Dogs stuff - it makes a lot of sense to me. I haven’t yet got my dog yet though. I’m so hoping I can still get him in 3 weeks 🤞

I’ve got a couple of the free ebooks if you want me to send them to you to give a taster?

I did some AD stuff. I’d start with the free DVD (if it’s still available). Leash Off Game On is think it’s called.

I grew up with negative dog training and have to report that it is possible to change and that positive training works.

Dog farts. Bleugh.
I think that information should be included with 'about your breed' details. They tell you how much exercise they need, whether they shed, how intelligent they are, how big etc. How stinky should definitely be included too.
Skye is rancid. She's on dry puppy biscuits and some bits of chicken as training treats. Why does she smell SO BAD???

Try switching the food maybe WL. It took me a while to find a food that Ernie enjoyed that also agreed with him. He has a sensitive tummy.

Yes, it will be the food. Remember to do any changes gradually. What dry is she on now?
