Just to confirm that Cookie and Phoebe are already over stimulated and knackered already.

She's a super scaredy girl, we've had lots of little accidents (including a full on wee on the dog bed in our bedroom this morning, but luckily we have lots of dog beds and it wasn't our bed), but she's eating well and after attempting to climb the stairs to join us when we all went to bed the night before last and falling back down, we had a whole pack together last night and today she's enjoying (or tolerating) her first proper snuggles on the sofa (Sam put his arm on her and she pinned it down with her head).
Merry Christmas, Bel, there's a lot more love to come 😍

Aww. Sometimes a dog *should* be for Christmas.
Rory is predictably being a PITA, massively overstimulated by more people than usual/ bigger garden than usual (with resident foxes!)/ presence of my brother, who for some reason he finds really really exciting/ wrapping paper all over the shop. We’ve already been for a 2 hour walk this morning. We’re going for another shortly.

Ernie has coped well with the madness (better than me truth be told). He flippin’ loved his new toy and then claimed the one we bought for my sister’s dog too.

Too much excitement for Cookie and Phoebe yesterday. They were knackered by early evening and we stayed at the in laws, so they slept on our beds. Hopefully a rainy walk round the park will sort them out today.

Let it snow Daisy
Son1 bought antlers for each of the other family dogs as his dog adores hers. Unfortunately two were thick chunky antlers and one, a thinner but more 'interesting' shape. Guess who ended up with the least popular one. Flossie kept trying to swap with Cooper and Polly but they were having none of it. Next time I'm in Pets at Home I'll get her her own chunky one.

Poor Flossie! I bought some raw duck necks from the raw (dog) food freezer in our local co-op. Wanda ate the whole lot rather than gnawing on it and the boney bits were not digestible, we later discovered!!! So I'll be asking all the local dog walkers if they give them to their dogs I guess and trying to off-load them onto someone.

Hark the Heleg-Advent Angels Sing
We introduced Jet to Sproglet's dog. It's a year-old Border Collie, 'excess to requirements' from their Welsh sheep farmer friends, with still very puppy-like behaviour. Jet just tried to keep out of the way.

Rory and I have just been to a Christmas-themed escape room scentwork workshop - 5 dogs, who searched rooms in the local village hall to find scents which had clues hidden with them, including one 'key' per room which we had to find before moving on to the next area. Then 7 humans stood round looking confused trying to work out how to make the clues into a 6-digit code to defuse a 'bomb'.
So much fun. Apparently took our instructor 2 months to devise it though, so it might be a while till the next one...
