Sorry to hear he has been poorly and I'm glad you were able to get an appointment for him. Did he eat some rice, how is he now?

Poor Ernie. :-( I’ve given Rory chicken and rice mixed with natural yoghurt before - might help if he isn’t drinking?

He wolfed down the rice & chicken. He was hassling me about 5 minutes ago. I thought maybe he needed to go out but instead he stood looking at the cupboard where the treats live. I think he's probably OK but I still haven't seen him drinking.

That sounds a good sign about the chicken and rice. I'd be inclined to mix a little water with it as well if he hasn't been drinking. Wanda sometimes won't drink (for example if she goes to the kennels which as a result we now try to avoid) so I routinely put water with her food so I know she is getting something to drink.

Ralph-dog is limping again.

I've bottled out of taking him to the vets today because he hates it, doesn't like the car anyway and a trip to the vets always makes getting him in the car for other trips harder. - and I'm not sure he could get in it :(

Last time (last month?) when he was lame before it went away overnight, this has now been over 24 hrs so if he's no better Monday I'll take him - when youngest is around to come and help me.
Poor boy, I'm thinking his hill-walking days may be over :(

Hope there's an overnight recovery RH.

We're dogsitting Hattie. So far so good, although she is a picky eater. We have worked out that picking up her bowl if she's walked away from it twice concentrates her mind ;-)

Phoebe got herself stuck in a bramble bush on Saturday. I had to rescue her. Phoebe is fine, I have a scratched head!

We're discovering the 'joys' of extricating brambles etc from an attractively shaggy coat - not something you have to worry about with a Lab :-)
