How often do German Shepherd Dogs moult? There's one I used to see in the park as I ran through which has become fond of me: making a b-line, yowling & 'talking'. Owner thought August was too early to be moulting.

Poor Polly! Hope she recovers without surgery.
Didn't one of your pre Fossie labs have a cruciate problem caused by over enthusiastic jumping, LD?

Yes, Daisy did hers in though not as badly as Polly seems to have done. We were referred to the 20-years-ago equivalent of the Super-Vet who decided that she would heal well enough without surgery, and he was fortunately proved right. IIRC Daisy's problems started with jumping down from the stairs. Polly is such a bold little puppy and the games she plays with Cooper can be quite lively. Puppies, eh
Son2 sent us a little video of Polly in her crate (with a cute tractor-decorated strapping all up her leg). She's whimpering a bit, and Cooper comes up and very gently nuzzles her as if to settle her. He is such a sweetheart.

Lovely Cooper Charlie also has a damaged ligament after falling off the back of the sofa when he was a few months old. He got away without surgery but still hops on 3 legs if he’s having a fast run. Otherwise no visible signs. Hopefully Polly will recover similarly, or better still, without the need to hop!

My GSD lost hair in huge quantities all year round. She died 2 years ago and there is still dog hair in weird places... The horses have started moulting.
