Helegant
Sigh... 40 minutes spent removing grass seeds and twigs from Jet after his walk this morning. At 10am he ran into the garden, rolled in the foliage and came back covered in grass. He didn't take kindly to another round of grooming.

Wanda has had what I believe in modern parlance is called a 'play date' but when I was a lass was simply called 'going over your mate's house'.
A friend of ours called round this morning and texted beforehand to let us know that she had her dog with her and wouldn't come if it would be a problem. The dogs have met before and have been very friendly so I said it was fine. However Wanda doesn't get that many canine visitors so before Teazle arrived I took the precaution of picking up all bones and tuggies but left a few half chewed tennis balls around.
Despite the heat the dogs had a great chase around outside and then were impeccably behaved. Teazle finished off the shredding of one of the tennis balls, Wanda spent much of the rest of the time in her bed while Teazle explored the rest of the house.
Probably doesn't sound like a big deal to most dog owners but given that there are still people we know who won't allow Wanda to meet their dogs it's nice to know that not everyone hates Staffies!

Glad to hear Wanda getting the playtime with other dogs that she deserves!
On the grass seed front, I'd though I'd share picture of my previous Labrador's run in with grass seed...
After puncturing a tiny hole in her gum while running with a stick, Tara then got a grass seed stuck in the puncture. All was fine for a few days, and then (presumably through some sort of chewing-related capillary action) it worked it's way under her skin to the top of her head and caused swelling and lethargy. Thankfully pet insurance covered the cost to cut her open and remove the offending seed for a full recovery!

#WorldCupWanda is getting ready for this afternoon's game. Don't report us to the RSPCA - it's only the light on the fire, not the actual heat. It doesn't stop her barking at us to turn the heat on too though - even though it is one of the hottest days of the year
