She sounds very entertaining :-)

Talking of entertaining has been anyone else seen a little video on FB of dogs (and one cat) reacting to their owners disappearing behind a sheet? It's very amusing and I'm going to see how Floss reacts when I've got a moment to set it up. I'll see if I can find the link.

Does anyone have any magic tips for washing out a seed from a dog's ear?

I've been avoiding one of Ralph's usual paths as there is just too much barley grass/foxtail grass along it at the moment. But today he insisted. After only 100yds or so he was shaking his head manically :(

In the absence of any of his "usual" ear drops/wash, I've filled his ear with Leucillin, which seems to have settled him down a lot. I can go fetch some of the ear-wash we've used before in the morning - but any tips to avoid the huge vet's bill we had last time he got a grass seed in his ear

Just met someone else with the same issue - and a £240 vet bill!

keep your dogs away from foxtail grass folks!

Ralph had a seed removed from one ear today - £30 10 minute job - phew!

Unfortunately, they're not sure whether or not there is one in the other ear as well. - If I'm worried in the morning (head shaking continues) I have to take him in at 8 for a better look sedated.

Anyways - he was the 12th case of a seed in ear TODAY! - apparently, they've never known a year like this one for issues with grass seeds.

Take care!

This morning, I paused my run to admire a 17-month-old male Cane Corso dog. I'd spoken to his walker before and recall that the dog was rescued from Romania. He's nonchalant and very impressive in build and presence.

This from Google images -

I picked up Rory yesterday from his weekend away (so I could go on non-dog weekend away). Unlike last time, when he was absolutely furious with me, he seems very happy to be home and has been bouncing all round the place rediscovering his toys (it’s been 72 hours...) and throwing himself at me :-)

not sure of age of photo of Cano Corso above - ear cropping is now widely outlawed, as is tail docking. Whether he'd suffered in Romania is not known.
