Aw, poor Cookie. I remember the horse incident... So sorry there's this long term repercussion.

The vets recommended a supplement that has some rave reviews online, so he starts that tomorrow.

Poor Cookie - is that yumove or something else?

It makes me sad that our 8 year old springer is limited to 3 15 minute on lead walks a day due to arthritis. He seems happy enough but just feel he should be running around like a mad thing for hours on end!

That's really sad TR :( , I keep expecting the pins in Ralph's elbow to give him trouble now he's nearly 9, but gingers crossed he's okay at the moment His (almost identical) best springer mate from down the road is almost a yr older and has bad arthritis in back legs and hips.

luck it works Dave, poor Cookie

Hope the supplements work Dave. We use Yumove for Wanda as she often has a bit of stiffness - the vets aren't overly concerned at the moment but have warned that arthritis could develop at a younger age than we might reasonably expect.

We started Cookie on the Nutraquin plus last night. Amongst other things it contains anti inflammatory. There was an improvement in how he moved and how he looked when moving within a couple of hours. Over the last 4-6 weeks his behaviour around walksxand exercise had changed drastically, but looking back he’s probably been getting the early signs for a couple of years now, we just hadn’t picked up on them. I’d put this down to him calming down a bit, but then he’s a terrier so maybe I was being deluded. After one dose we’ve seen a difference and the manufacturer states noticeable differences in 4-7 days.

So when I’m on here next week, complaining of a hyper active puppy, we’ll know why.
