Dougal's story is now on my blog as it ended up too long to recount here, sorry, (and the blog is way too long as always and the story is about half way down!) It involves sheep chasing and catching, and I plead innocence!

It is! And here is a picture of Dougal, with our blind cat Magic, both sunbathing, to prove he is calm natured. I tried to sneak up closer, but Dougal was asleep and woke up and was starting to get up as I approached:

Rory and I did a Scentwork Trial yesterday while the rest of the country was lazing about watching the royal wedding. The dog has 3 minutes to find the scent and indicate to the handler in different environments. We were doing level 1, which is a vehicle search, tables and chairs, boxes and bags and ‘non-retrievables’ which are random heavy household objects lying around outside (like ladders, fans, hoovers). There are points for finding the scent, for the quality of the alert, for how well you handle the dog, and then how quick the search is is recorded separately. Rory only went and bloody came first in his level! He got 100% in the fastest overall time. I think we shall maybe retire from competitive scentwork now... :-)

Wanda had a bath yesterday. Not a going to the groomers posh bath or anything but a bucket and sponge bath in the garden. She has spent most of her walk this morning rolling in whatever it was she smelled of before the bath.........

Well done Rory :-) Why am I not surprised?

As for Wanda, I'm glad she knows she is still a dog, but yes, it also made me smile.
