I'm so shocked and upset really. The other dog a young male black lab came rushing very agressively at Indi, who was on the lead. Indi snarled and showed all his teeth and the other dog backed off. I suppose you could say Indi was standing up for himself for the first time! I didn't recognise Indi's face like that, it shocked me. Am I being silly?

It doesn't make him any different to yesterday. Also he may have seen you as being under some sort of threat. Even though you weren't.
