I suspect that D2's wisdom would be very revealing for me. I am reminded every day of how new to this dog thing we are. Having said that we have made huge progress of late. I had Ernie off lead on 'our' beach the last few mornings. He was on a long line at 'our' beach because he totally ignored me and would run off to say hello to people and dogs (friend or unknown). Twice this week he has spotted dogs he usually goes off to say hello to, been clearly excited to see them BUT has waited until given permission to say hello :):):)

We have similarissue to Jess and Indi. Jet has few opportunities to play with dogs the same size as him, and he now seeks to politely decline offers to play with bigger dogs. On the rare occasions that he gets to run with his peers he has a wonderful time. Sadly not that common.

Just so those of us with grown-up dogs can remember what it's like having a puppy around...

Lottie has developed a fascination with our garden pond. At first I thought she's gone in accidentally but it is all too clear now she just loves having a rootle through the stinky mud at the bottom
And how's this for luck? When we got back from our walk this morning I realised she'd lost the tag off her collar, the one that's engraved with her home (ie Nottingham) number and my BiL's mobile number (he's in France.)
An hour or so later, BiL phones from France to say that he's had a call from someone who found it out in the fields He gave me her number and the kind (and eagle-eyed) lady dropped it off on her way home.

That was lucky LD - I thought you were going to say you'd had to dig around at the bottom of the pond to find it
Great picture though

Great story and brilliant pic But nothing for me will ever top this:
Lazy Daisy's Flossie - guilty as charged. Gives me another chance to post it!

You really need LD's caption too:
'Me? No I've been nowhere near the pond, honest...'
What is it about your pond LD?
