Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yes they would probable advise inducing vomiting soon after eating so he couldn't absorb the toxins. It's a tricky one but I agree with your thinking and if it was Wanda I'd wait a bit. Look for other signs of being unwell though, not just being sick but general discomfort (you'll know your dog well enough to know when he looks poorly I imagine)

Yes well Flossie has eaten a kilo of dried fruit which made her *very* ill, but she's also eaten Christmas cake which had no discernible effect. It doesn't sound as if Dougal's consumption will put him at risk but if he starts vomiting getvhim to the vet asap. That's my (amateur) advice.

Dougal is currently chewing my chair legs (as he normally does since he buried half his chew toys and can't work out where they were buried). Before that he destroyed a stick and left muddy footprints everywhere, and nice scratch marks on the carpet. Currently that's "par for course" :-).

Rory stole some Whispa bites once. Fortunately I'd put some in a bowl and I knew approximately how much had been in there. So I weighed one, and worked out how much I thought he'd had, and used an online calculator which said he was at very low risk of coming to harm. So I did nothing, because it was Sunday evening. He was absolutely fine (but he's got a taste for chocolate now, which at least means I tend to eat less of it when he's around.)

This is such a sensible thread with sound advice. My FB cockapoo group would have given all manner of dramatic and inappropriate advice. It is one of the many reasons I am going to leave the group.

ION we went to the vet and he thinks it is a cyst on Ernie's nose. This vet was far more pleasant and told me what a lovely boy Ernie was. He even appreciated kisses and commented how brave he was being :)

Phew. The collie has been adopted by someone else. Son's GF is very disappointed, but I'm very relieved.

Dougal suffered no ill effects from his raisin incident. Phew! He's currently cowering in his crate hiding from his walk. What kind of border collie doesn't like to walk?
