I have a question. Ernie has a spot/lump just above his nose. It appeared a few days ago and is about 3/4mm diameter. Any idea what it might be? Should I take him to the vet?

Rory and I do scentwork, Helegent. I would describe him as...not naturally gifted :-) I don't care though cos it's good for him to have to slow down and focus, and besides, I like it :-)

Could something have bitten Ernie? Or has he stuck his nose in somewhere and got a thorn or a splinter?

I honestly don't know Maz. He's forever rummaging in the undergrowth or under the river bank for lost balls. In fact the only scent work he does is locating lost tennis balls. He's very good at it.

Vizslas are prone to bites / lumps / bumps etc and rashes from undergrowth. Suggest keep an eye on it hp and if it doesn't go down go to the vets. Hope it goes away!

I can't remember what colour Ernie is, but on the couple of occasions Jet has picked up a tick it was very hard to tell it apart from the normal colour variations on his skin, and it initially looked like a lump.

Jet has already worked out that he gets treats for following the scent, but has also indicated that the smell is a bit rich for him - he's avoiding it.

I don't blame him - I'm not really a fan of cloves. I wish they used something else!

Rory gets frustrated and distracted...which is exactly why it's good for him!

Tired my two out. They're not bold enough to chase the cat from their comfy dog bed, so they're grudgingly slumming it on the floor.

I'm fairly certain it isn't a tic although the thought has crossed my mind.

Ernie is completely crashed out after a 12 mile walk around Loch Affric. I'm also a little tired :)
