Alice this is a real feather in your cap, you have been accepted as one of the villagers! Seriously though, good luck - no tips to give as I'm always hopeless as spotting the eventual winners!
Good rosette gathering Jet!

Excellent rosette winning Jet
Ralph has always had working crunch as a base - because of the VAT thing, but he gets some raw chicken, bits of liver and some veg with it as well. His weight is moderated more by exercise than what he eats - a few lazy (me) days is all it takes for his waist to be less pronounced and a couple of days close to a beach and he needs extra treats when his ribs show too much.

I didn't know about the VAT thing for working dog food either, although I'd noticed it's a bit cheaper than other dog food. I'm currently experimenting with food for Charlie, partly because he always seems hungry despite eating the recommended amounts (and is about 1/2 kg overweight according to the vet!) but also in an attempt to stop him scratching so much. I've read LOADS about food allergies in dogs but hadn't realised that many are sensitive to chicken, which is the main protein of the brand we were feeding. We're trying AATU at the moment, it's one of these 80/20 kibbles, bit on the pricey side but seems to be helping with the itchy skin.

Oh interested to hear what others are feeding. Ernie is also constantly 'hungry' and looking for treats constantly. At meal times he will harass me to be fed, yip at me whilst I prepare his food (stern telling off), and then stand on the other side of the room looking at me when I go to put it down for him. He will reluctantly come over and eventually sit and give me a paw. He is a contrary bugger!
Being a judge is an honour. I wouldn't have a clue and would probably pick the one with the biggest personality.

My definition of a 'working dog' is that it eats working dog food, which is not normally available in pet food shops, but can be found at Tack shops and farm suppliers.
Rosehip, you are spot on with the exercise thing.

I have told the training class that I go to that I wont be attending on a Saturday in future while the dog that attacked Indi is there.
The trainer said I don't blame you I wouldn't take my dog in that class........... apparently other people have refused to go too. They surely just need to stand up to the handler of that dog and tell him?

If the trainer wouldn't take their dog to that class while the other dog is there and others have refused to go too, surely they should just tell them that this dog is no longer welcome at least until it has undergone some either private training or aggression specific training. Otherwise they will be slowly but surely reducing their class until it is only him left, which can't be good business sense????
