I'm relieved Jess doesn't do that; we'd never be able to get her home!

Oh poor Cookie - bless him!
George isn't bothered about fireworks but Mr Woo recently changed his mobile ringtone to a very electronic duck's quack - George is completely outraged by it and if he could, I'm sure he'd try to 'kill' the phone! He's not bothered by ducks quacking in real life though.

Fireworks success the other night. Not huge number of fireworks but he did little more than woof indignantly and request for the blinds to be open so he could investigate. We will probably be at my folks this weekend and the local fireworks are pretty impressive - not sure how this will go.

ION I did my first yoga session in the presence of the dog this morning. Apart from lying in the most awkward place possible - he does like to be close - he was actually very good.

So proud of Indi today he did most of our obedience class off lead and managed Stand Stay for the first time. :)

Well done Indi. Wanda cannot see the point of Stand Stay - she will do it but we don't get more than about 20 seconds of it before she decides to sit down - however as I'm not sure of its benefits either, 20 seconds is good enough for me. We don't plan to take any more tests, so from a practical point of view I'd rather know I could leave her in a 'stay' should I need to than worry about the position of the stay.

Indeed.

Jet doesn't 'stand' to command. If he's not entirely sure what I want he will try sit or lie until I look happy. I can get him to 'stand' if a)he is next to me, b)I have a treat in my hand, and c) my foot under his 'bits'.

It's my own fault for not training him properly to so something I've never seen any need for (although he did stand properly to be measured for agility, but that was his choice and not my command - weird)

Ernie will also only stand with a treat in my hand. It is handy when I try to brush him.

I feel like our training has stalled completely. I can't seem to move on from constant treats required to do things. He hates stay and watch for some reason. He gets kind of anxious/frustrated. Despite my best efforts he still wants to run off to say hello to every person and dog he sees. He jumps all over visitors. His recall is crap if there is anything even remotely exciting around. I know it probably comes down to consistency and just practicing more regularly but we are trying really hard. I've made that all sound very negative and there are good bits. I think with everything else going on in life right now it's just one more thing I feel I'm screwing up.
