Not me. There are just too many people raising money for running.
Has anyone been rejected by email yet? I need the email for our club draw.

no email yet Don't qualify for our club draw as I haven't run the road races this year.
I also applied for a place to run for Parkinson's, if I get offered that (unlikely) I'll take it in memory of dad, but I wouldn't go hunting for a charity place. Collecting the sponsorship is harder than doing the training!

Tim of MK
Plus 'golden bond' places cost charities so much that a goodly percentage of sponsorship raised doesn't ever make it through to funding good works.

With respect Tim, that's nonsense - the golden bond income goes to VMLM, and VMLM is itself a charity which supports good causes in specific areas and particularly London. That might not be the same charity that you intend to raise funds for, but it doesn't stop it being good works.
Overall VMLM gets income in to cover its costs (and pay its staff, and no doubt prize money etcm though sponsors will contribute etc) but surpluses become charitable donations. If the charity places weren't priced the way they are (and they are priced that way partly because it is still massively worth it to those charities) then the GFA / Ballot etc places would have to be priced higher to generate the same overall return for the VMLM good causes.
Just as with the charities that buy the bond places themselves, of course there's a chunk of whatever income which is used on administering the charity (and some charities will no doubt do that better than others) but that is true of every charitable outfit unless they are truly run and operated by volunteers.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum (and site) but as a first post I thought I'd just join in with the London rejection theme. Had my rejection email today once again (how amazingly unbelievable), but as normal I'm not too bothered, plenty of other (and better) runs to enter into.
