I have a whole haslet block in a freezer...it might be getting dug out and defrosted. Lorne sausage from a real Scottish butcher ππ Should be travelling to Edinburgh tomorrow, but job cancelled π My veggie OH read an idea of fried malt loaf as a sausage alternative. Itβs on the menu at the weekend.... |

I didn't even have to look to know who started this thread!! I'm quite into the Heck chicken sausages at the moment. They do a paprika one and one called spring chicken - good in things like risottos. I don't really like sausages that are too heavy or fatty. |

But I still don't know what square sausage or Lorne sausage is! (Haslet and bloody good Lincolnshire sausage can be ordered from bostonsausage.co.uk ) not quite as good as from mum's butcher or the Pinchbeck one I grew up with, but good enough :). They also do stuffed chine, which is my favourite Uk fo, the absence of which from the British food deathmatch is a disgrace!) |

Venison sausages, there's a good thing provided there is a bit of pork for fat. Baroness. I was a bit bored so I started a few random threads. |

I enjoy venison sausages but Mr GM is less keen so we haven't had them for ages.

Very good, Currywurst in fact, the worst German sausage.
