A couple of decades ago, my Grandad used to ask me to drop by the butcher's on Vicarage Road in Watford for him if ever I was watching the football. Those were fine sausages, but sadly I don't believe that that shop exists any more. Those were a pretty standard Pork sausage, but something in that recipe was excellent.

That said, now I live in Lincolnshire, any random proper butcher can provide me with a better Lincolnshire sausage than any of those imposters the supermarkets claim to sell (no geographic protection, you see). Sadly, my daughter doesn't care for the sage in a Lincolnshire sausage, so it's a very rare treat.

Fried Haslet - what a fantastic idea. :)

Meanwhile, we like Lorne (square) sausage at Scout camp because it means you don't have to add any other fat to get the eggs fried! ;)

I like Lincolnshire sausages; I hadn't realised it was sage in them.

I like Italian pork and fennel and partial to chorizo.

I do like a bit of Lorne sausage as well.

Fried haslet seems inspired. Just need to track down haslet sold whole rather than sliced

Lorne, chorizo, Toulouse...
Love lots of East European sausages, when we are forced into Aberdeen, we shop for imported meats including some great sausages. Tend to have less filler and more fat, which we prefer.
