I was shamed out of a lie-in this morning by the sound of two old gentlemen trundling past my house on a quad cycle and trailer. If the sun is high enough for pensioners to be making their way to the forest with chainsaws, for a little light logging and foraging for firewood, then surely I should be up by now. Here they are on their first return trip.

PS I thought the piney smell in the air was someone being enthusiastic and cleaning the bathroom - but now I know. They are just off for their second load.

2 prizes from Ernie, and for the first time ever, one of them was *not* for £25! (Ok, it was only £50, but it makes a nice change!)

We had 2 too, and one was £100 and not the normal £25's 😁

Every time I watch Les Mis, I can't stop singing five digit user numbers in the style of 24601.

We’ve just ordered our Turkey and Gammon for Christmas from the local butcher. Normally we buy from the supermarket so it’s nice to change habits and support a local business.
