And his sentences keep trailing off- then he seems to realise he needs to finish it, so his prosody is all wrong and the sense is lost. It's a good story tho, and there are multiple narrators, so I'll put up with it.

Last time I went several years ago I was made to feel so shitty for holding them up :/

I'd be horrified if I thought anyone was made to feel like they were holding anyone up ] Parkrun tourists who want a volunteer credit and a run credit so ask for jobs that we either don't normally have or are already taken. Like the one asking to token sort, was told that we don't have that as a separate job but we do need barcode scanners and finish token helpers, and replied that they wanted to run as well and they'd try and do token sorting "on the day".
