30 pages into book before I realised I had already read it.

[Thankfully a charity shop purchase so not an expensive error]

When we had to rebook our outbound flight back in May after the security debacle at Schipol the agent actually moved our return leg, due to be tomorrow from San Francisco to Amsterdam, both date and diree. Leaving us with no return flight booking.

We found this out when we tried to check in today for the flight tomorrow and couldn't.
When we finally got through to klm customer service the agent said she'd send an urgent request to issue us tickets for the right flight, but it could take 'up to 24 hours'. At that point the flight was due to leave in 23 hours.

Got S to take the car to the garage this morning. This is a bit stressful as she has to empty everything out of the car and the courtesy car is a bit crap (first world problem, I know).

Unfortunately I got the date wrong and she was a week early.

[Actually, this isn't really minor, she will be so angry about this I am a bit scared...]

Not my disaster, but I fear it might befall me in a few weeks...

A friends was due to fly with Ryanair from Bristol to Beziers last Wednesday. A few days before, Ryanair cancelled the flight and the next scheduled flight with them is not for another fortnight, but 'luckily' she was able to rebook with EasyJet from Gartwick, leaving yesterday.

She and her husband left home in Glos at 2am yesterday in the middle of a thunderstorm and drove to Gatwick for their morning flight.

They were ten minutes away from the airport when they got a text to say their flight had been cancelled.

We're booked on the same Ryanair flight in mid-July. When I checked yesterday they're still selling tickets for the flight, but still very cheaply, which suggests they haven't filled the plane. I expect Mr O'Leary will decide to cancel it.

I planted some dahlias in about January, carefully keeping them out of the frost, but nothing has grown. So I dug them up today, finding signs of life in all but one.

I left my dahlias in their pots all winter and took no care whatsoever to protect them. In one pot the plant is in full leaf and looking fine, in another there are early signs of life, and in a third I made the same mistake as Chris. I dug around in the pot ready to plant geraniums in it, only to accidentally break off a shoot from the well-buried dahlia tuber.

Call from agency cancelling the work I was meant to have for the rest of the week.

Ach weel, I can run, cycle, and help a friend with some stuff. And since it's forecast rain the morra morning, might as well have a couple extra at the pub quiz tonight.
