Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

What minor disaster has befallen you today?

I opened a cupboard in the kitchen an a pack of pasta fell out - straight into the hot pan of chicken paprikash that was underneath it.
The resulting splash has left me with two tiny but very sore burns on my cheek and eyelid

(Isn’t it fab how good eye-lids are are closing at the right time to protect ones eyes :) )

Taking my top off and managed to scratch my face with my thumbnail. I’ve taken a tiny patch of skin off just above my lip and it’s very sore now.

This is the third time I’ve scratched my own face taking a top off, who has taken away my proprioception? :(

I can’t book my smart meter installation because the website is too busy. Probably because everyone is submitting their meter readings.

I wouldn’t bother with a smart meter but SSE are offering me £50 credit if I book before April 4th.

I won’t bother looking at the smart meter but I’ll get £50. Win, win.

[The smart meter is the replacement meter that communicates with the supplier. The screen in your house is just a display unit.]

[Yes I understand that, but the ads imply that you can monitor your usage and make vast savings by switching off unnecessary appliances/systems. We’ve been switching off everything for ages, as well as buying switched socket bars to switch off unnecessary appliances that would be sitting on standby]

My flapjack (using recipe from Runner's Cookbook by Anita Bean) looks more like granola than flapjack! Not sure where it's gone wrong 😕

All of my pre-set DAB radio channels disappeared in the car. Not the first time it's happened.

I was planning to get some work in the garden done today as the snow/sleet showers were forecast to stop mid morning. But it’s not looking likely now.
