Many years ago when I had my cats one brought home a rabbit skin no rabbit (thabkfulky) just its perfectly removed skin.
A guy I worked with a few years back found his cat trying to bring a chicken through the cat flap - it wasn't quite dead!

A starling today. I opened the doors and windows and once I have prised it out of cats mouth it flew out and away. The cat was very nearly choked to death to get it to let go!!

neighbour's cat bought me a mouse - i didn't want it - even tho it meow'ed and looked in at the french doors, expecting me to let it in!! - it then gave up and left said dead mouse on the threshhold
looked up how to deter cats from doing this -and seems u shouldn't - they are thanking u for feeding/looking after them and it 'hurts their feelings' if u shoo them away
so i have guilt - i binned it while cat was away - and gave it a stroke, food and kind words when it returned - but i still hope i didn't hurt its feelings when i did not let it in

My cat gets locked outside when he brings something in. He rarely does now. He still catches stuff and we get the odd mouse-guts but generally think he leaves it outside.

aah i always say thank you then discreetly bin it- the other night he bought a bird home it wasnt quite dead so we locked him in the utility room and put the bird out under the hedge- 10 mins later we let him out and he spent half hour walking around the downstairs looking for the bird - my female cat whos now about 17 has never brought anything home in her life
