The new iPhones don’t come with a plug for charging and need a different charger from the older versions. Handy.

Dio they use USB-C like a lot of Android phones and newer computers. You might find you have a compatible charger already

[Thanks CW, the only one we’ve found is her sister’s MacBook charger which demands a level of sibling cooperation I can’t see lasting very long]

then check what cable comes with the iPhone. If it's USB 2.0-A (the normal one!) on one end you can just use a normal head to connect it to the mains. If it's not, buy a cable like this to use with an existing charger than has a USB2.0-A female output. amazon.co.uk |

I might be misunderstanding this conversation, but I believe the iphone 12 models still have a Lightning connector on the phone; the supplied cable is Lightning to USB-C, so Dio's issue is at the charger end, not at the phone end. But this Lightning to USB old school cable on the Apple site says it is compatible with the iphone 12 series apple.com so you should also be able to use an existing Lightning to USB cable and an existing Apple type charger to charge the new one. |

I'm with Badger. Any Apple Lighting connector will do.

Ah, misinterpreted the conversation! I've got an iPhone8. Dio, what they said, if the input to the phone is lightning then any charge for an older iPhone will work.
