If I had to choose between heated wing mirrors and heated seats, toasty buttocks wins every time.

I *think* I've had heated wing mirrors in previous cars which turned on when the rear windscreen heater was on. This is the only one that I've had with its own independent control. I was crying out for such a facility this morning.

In the days when I had a company car and many of my colleagues went for the most powerful, fastest car they could get for their allowance, cool in the summer (aircon) and heated seats for the winter won every time for me.

My current car has electric hot and cold running everything. Generally speaking it defrosts itself a little slower than my last car (Ford) but the heated seats are particularly warm. Never get more than a couple of miles from home before they need turning off for fear of spontaneous combustion.

Re Dio's comment bottom of last page - those were the days when they were WING mirrors, not DOOR mirrors - you had this small image of what was behind you, viewed from 4 foot away :)

The best thing about electric cars is you can get into a pre-warmed car on a winter morning as it can fire itself up to heat the interior before you get anywhere near it. Proper toasty!!

My first car, a B-prefix Fiat Uno, had only one door mirror from new - it would appear that the passenger side one was an optional extra. I bought one - by this stage the car was 9 years old.
