Oddly enough this prompted me to look at Swedish words and I discovered that 'Slutspurt' means 'finish' in English.

Reminds of me of one of my student friends who joined the RAF after university. He told me that someone who had landed a plane the same number of times that they had taken off was considered a good pilot. He then thought for a moment, before working out that he had not actually managed it himself.
