That the God Particle, aka the Higgs Boson, was so-called because the original publisher of the book featuring it was loathe to give it its original title of the God-damn Particle (because it was so god-damn difficult to find!). Occasionally Thought For The Day is pretty informative, as well as thought-provoking. |
