That Kandahar (Afghanistan) was founded by and named after Alexander the Great. I wonder if he had more luck conquering the area than has been had by the west in the past couple of centuries. |

How to set up a spreadsheet on Google Docs - you can see it here in my charity sweepstake thingy: I'm running a couple of races this autumn, the Royal Parks Half (for UNICEF) and the first York Marathon (for Cardiac Rehab in memory of Alistair Willman). Rather than ask for sponsorship I have organised a sweepstake. I planned to run 1000 miles this year, and am already at 941 miles. The question is what will the grand total for the year be? I've set up a spreadsheet at tinyurl.com for you to enter your choice. £2 per 'educated guess!' Half the pot, up to a maximum of £50 to the person who is closest. Payment by paypal preferred to toriascharitysweepstake@gmail.com! Go on! Have a go, you know you want to! |
