I might be chasing santa's pigtails again then, looking at them there numbers! I've got a bit of a cold. This seems to be situation normal during taper for me. Hopefully it will clear by 19 Jun. Cannae wait. :-) G

Lots of people get wee colds and things when they taper, G. I read somewhere that the theory goes that during training, your mind just doesn't let those things surface but as you relax a bit in taper, it stops holding it back so you get the symptoms and hopefully sort out the underlying problem. Or something like that. Could all be bollocks of course.

I read same shanksi. Also after you big race. Something to do with adrenalin etc during training and racing keeps it at bay. When that reduces during taper, or post race rest, the bugs take hold. I'm sure it will pass. :-) G

It's the same as teachers: you never get sick during term time, then as soon as you hit the holiday, your body releases all the bugs it's been saving up.

I'm trying to plan my marshalling shift so I can see all the people I want to see, and also be there for the times I need to be Mrs Tough. It's getting complicated.

By the way, does anyone know how the "Challenge" got on? Apparently it was on Sat just past. If it went into Sunday I think the poor souls out there would have had a horrible night. Though bad weather is no fault of the race, of course. Not having a support runner, support crew, any experience of that distance, adequate kit, tracking, cut offs for those who are too slow etc. those things *are* the fault of the race organiser.

Wonder how many starters (and finishers) they had. Was it 5 last year? :-) G

I can't see any results, 5 finished last year.
Apparently if you finished under 30 hours you had the option to climb Ben Nevis at the end! :)

At the least the midges were down which was the "reason" for the change of date.

I like all the CAPITALISATION and use of 'quotation marks' for emphasis on the WEBSITE. Not sure if the miss-spilings and gramartical erors are for emphasis too, or if it's just the myriad of "idiots" getting to the Race Director. (sic) ! :-) G
