sorry if this has been posted before, but from the facebook page FAQ:

Q. When do I find out if I have secured a place through the ballot?

A. The results of the ballot for the 2016 race will go out from Wednesday 30 September and you should have heard by 7 October. Everyone from the UK who gains a place in the ballot is sent a print Congratulations magazine. If you haven’t heard from us by 7 October, please contact our helpdesk on 020 7902 0200, but not before!

For the first time this year, we are trialling an e-zine version of the Commiserations magazine. A random selection of approximately 50 per cent of unsuccessful applicants are sent the Commiserations magazine and the remainder are sent the e-zine version. Overseas applicants will be contacted via email

The rejected magazine is a bit like Bullseye's "let's see what you could have won" attitude. Haven't got it then I don't want it. At least the e-zine will be easier to bin.

is it cynical to assume that the tough luck emails will go out in dribs and drabs from Friday? with consequent online chattering thus extending the social media exposure ?

I wonder who'll be the first Fetchie to receive the 'Look at what you could have won' e-zine...? We should all start to receive them soon.

I'd be quite happy with a rejection. Fancying Rome instead.
