Great.
I probably won't even get the pleasure of dumping an unopened "Commiserations" magazine into the bin next year.
They are only being sent to 50% of the unsuccessful entrants. Those not getting a magazine will instead get a Fuckoff e-mail version instead.

I'm not really bothered if I get in or not. I've done it twice and whilst nice enough, it doesn't really jump out at me.
Deferred this year after deferring last year and they decided I can't defer twice so just got to try my luck with the ballot. Hopefully going to be doing the Hoka Highland Fling again next year so if I miss out on London, I'll have that and that's a far better option.

I did wonder how they were going to manage the magazines when the ballot was opened up.
Interesting change. I dumped the magazine without opening it the last couple of times but one of my friends signed up for a charity place which he read about in the magazine.

Where did yu get that from Stander?
the website says: Q. When do I find out if I have secured a place through the ballot? A. The results of the ballot for the 2016 race will be announced in early October 2015. Everyone from the UK who enters the ballot will receive either the Congratulations or the Commiserations magazine through the post. Overseas applicants will be contacted via email.
so only overseas get the email, we will still have the pleasure of flinging unopened mags into the bin.

Rosehip - we have 4 Gold Bond places at work that I am responsible for handing out. I therefore get some information that the public don't get.

It's nearly time. Are we excited, hopeful or just plain pessimistic?

No doubt because I can't run, I will get in...
Although if I don't, I hope I get the email rather than the magazine...it's a waste of paper, money, plastic etc...

Given the even more miniscule odds of gaining a ballot place now, I'm not holding my breath.
Anyway, I have a Golden Bond place with the World Cancer Research Fund but it would be nice not having to raise a minimum of two grand for them. I can concentrate on training instead of desperate fundraising.
