Nothing in the rules to say you have to run trail!

Sorry to hear about your injury CumbriAndy, hope you're back running soon. I agree it would be good to have folk who have done the actual race to give us a bit of description /thoughts on the route.
LG you can run it entirely on road, it is a virtual race after all. Which distance have you signed up for?

Just the Marathon for me MrsS as Iβm struggling mentally to do more than 5 miles at time although I aim to push myself next Saturday:-)

One of my colleagues is doing it - at the start of lockdown, he used to go for a walk every lunchtime, and he started running to make the best use of the exercise clause in case it got taken away. Amazing how much he has built up in a few months (I'm relieved he hasn't broken himself!)

Even road routes are problematic- we're in z narrow, steep sided valley which doesn't give much scope π

Don't say 'just the marathon', that's a long way! I found doing the virtual whw race helped me do more miles, chatting on the fetch thread made a difference too π. I hope the same will go for this virtual race.

Just hoping I can push myself to a half marathon if I take my pace back a bit and last the distance. I have 9 on the plan tomorrow but weather looks rubbish
