WHAT IS THE FORMAT?
Choose from three distances to push your own personal boundaries – Half Marathon, Marathon or 100km
You then have from Monday 6th July to Sunday 12th July to complete your distance in your local area
You’ll need to track your distance with a compatible tracking device or App
The entire distance can be done in one day or split across all seven days, and anything in between
At the end of each day, compare your completed distance against your fellow competitors via a Leaderboard which is conveniently sent to your inbox each evening
Whilst taking part in our virtual challenge, please ensure you continue to monitor and follow all government guidance regarding social distancing. More info can be found at www.gov.uk/coronavirus

After enjoying the virtual whw race I signed up for the ultra distance for the virtual Race to the Stones ultra. I've not done the actual race but it was the right distance for me and they are doing free prize draws. I'm going to keep to my routine of a 3 mile run with my son in the morning then a 6 mile run in the evening.

Hi jennywren, it's a shame you can't do the real thing. Have you done a virtual race before? Whw was my first one and I felt it really motivated me. I don't normally run every day so it boosted my training. I also ran with a different person for each run in the evening so I caught up with friends.

No this will be the first one. I don’t really go in for virtual medals and stuff but I was so gutted I couldn’t do this ultra (I was doing the first day of 50k and then staying overnight at base camp) and next year’s date doesn’t work unfortunately. At least it’ll be a way of (sort of) taking part! Also Threshold seem like a really decent company and I wanted to support them.

That's another good reason to take part, it's nice to support the organisers. Have you worked out a plan yet? I had a spreadsheet for whw as there were cut offs I had to meet. This race seems more straightforward.

I should have done RTTC over 2 days and was meant to be doing RTTS day 1 today. Absolutely gutted they were cancelled, understandably.

For the virtual I am the 100km and my daughter is doing the half.

Aw we might have seen each other Lorraine!

I’m just going to do the marathon distance over the course of next week, finishing with 10k next Sunday. I usually walk about 30 miles a week so it shouldn’t be a problem.
