Coincidentally I just saw your name had been added to the mission page.

I've been looking at the route. A lot of it appears to be on streetview, so it will be a bit like the GVRAT from that point of view. The nearest I have been to any of the route is Wellington, where I spent a couple of days in 2018, but it turns north again just before reaching the city. Looking forward to exploring.

Where as in 2009 we travelled almost the same route except the finish. The two places I hated were Wellington and Auckland(Auckland whilst in museum before flight home we got broken into and robbed)

Oh no, Welshpoppy!

I really liked Wellington. We had just spent five days driving there from Queenstown in a gap between two of Dr S's work commitments and, while she was in her conference, I ran everywhere I could and also visited the Weta Workshop.

There's a little out-and-back section near Wellington to go to what looks like a film location for Rivendell.
