We use Vitalite spread. I haven’t found a decent hard cheese substitute although Applewood isn’t bad. However Nush have a good Philly substitute.

Flora spread here, plant based of course, smoked applewood cheese acceptable as is cathedral city, no vegan cheese cuts it but okish, I can’t stand any if the violife cheeses .

I like Oatly barista but it does contain veg oil and salt so not particularly healthy

Soft cheeses tend to be the closest in taste to the cow milk versions.

I don't like the Oatly barista version, I do have the original blue carton. Provitamel and provamel oat milk is lovely.

I use flora original.

I generally prefer alternatives to cheese rather than fake cheese, for example:

- peanut butter
- marmite
- whole grain mustard
- nutritional yeast

Also, watch out for dairy-free marg containing palm oil (which can be listed as "vegetable oil"). That may just be a NZ thing, but we only found one brand here that was dairy and palm oil free. nuttelex.com hopefully you have more options.

Nutritional yeast is really nice on leek & pot soup, sprinkled when serving.

I love nutritional yeast too...and make fake parmesan with walnuts, garlic, and nutritional yeast...and a bit of salt.
