1) Timbuktu is a new badge to bridge the gap a little bit. 2) I've fixed some errors, so you might pick up some other long-gone badges. 3) The forum badges are for NUMBER OF THREADS, not posts. 4) You don't get reassessed for badges after every post - do some training or write a blog.

I've benefited from the 'Number of threads' badges only this afternoon.

for the distance badges, is it total training distance - eg run/bike/swim/cross or just run distance?

Ooh, what’s that for? I’ve got first and tenth forum post, is it related to that by any chance?

Scratch that, I’ve just seen that the keyboard warrior one on my “next badges” page.
Obvious question: if these badges are for activity in the last three months, do they go away after inactivity? I guess so I’m which case are they the first badges of their type?

They won't go away once you've earned them. I also thought about having a 'forum champ' badge for the person who's currently contributing to the most threads.
