If they can find any. There’s talk of (particularly younger) consumers wanting experiences rather things. Fifteen grand is a lot to pay for something that’s not worth fifteen hundred in my view p

Once they've come back from not-quite-outer-space orbit I reckon Elon Musk, Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos will be up for this.

I've got several friends who have very successfully used sherpavan.com and similar services that carry your luggage and book your accommodation while you are walking the Coast to Coast, the WHW, Hadrian's Wall and others. I'm sure you could use them for running too if you just book fewer nights and make them further apart. As DT suggests, probably around one-tenth of the cost of this.

This seems to be market segmentation taken to extreme levels. They're obviously getting the launch right, as it's giving them plenty of publicity.

"What clown wrote that?" I wondered. Some clueless Sassenach? A search on the author's name, Innes Manders ...

... turned up that he walked over 500 km, from Kinlochard at the start of the Highlands to Cape Wrath, aged 16. Aye ok, that's adequate credentials :-) walkhighlands.co.uk And he seems to have got a pretty sweet gig at The Times out of it.

£120 for the West Highland Way race is a bargain, innit?! Not that WHW Race ever needed any marketing or sales support. Consistently over subscribed. :-) G
