Looking at the website I'm not sure they are doing the North Sprint in winter yet anyway.

Not that I'm entering (yet!) but is the hardest race the one to enter rather than the event itself?

Hardest ‘race’ is saving up for all the kit ;-)

Haha. You're watching me! I literally had the kit list page open 10 minutes ago.

Not sure I really need much. GPS kit, though I guess that might be the most costly piece of equipment, and most/all the sleeping stuff.

I’m getting kind of hooked on a running challenge Jamil Coury is doing. Chipotle is a burrito place in America and they have a challenge where the strava ‘local legend’ on a 300 metre segment wins free Chipotle for a year. So you’ve got Jamil and another guy, Kevin, going up and down this 300m segment in a town in Arizona, throughout January. Yesterday Jamil did a 50 mile day, 140 over 3 days. They’re balancing this with ‘life’ (Jamil got his car towed from a parking lot), there are no toilets or aid stations etc, it’s just literally running up and down this segment (for the challenge, the segment only counts in one direction).

Jamil has been doing daily videos the last week or so, and also did a live stream yesterday. It started off quite lighthearted (he called his first video ‘My Latest Quest’), but turns out he’s taking it seriously and wants to win. The game side of it is interesting, and the guy who Jamil is competing against won it last year, so also wants to win this year.

That's a lot of effort for a burrito.

That is true. In fairness, it’s 52 burritos and I think there is some strategy in what is the most value, as Kevin has worked out you can double-wrap and get extra sides included in the prize. :)
