@Ray25757 out of interest, what was your conversion from marathon to the G2E 57miles /93k. ??

I'm planning to go out at MP x 2.75.

Whisper it quietly (because I now have 3 days probably to decide whether to enter or not) but for devoted hobblers, Haworth Hobble opens for entries on Tuesday.

Damo that sounds about right.

Last year I did a marathon in 3:22 but was as a hard long run, no taper, probably in 3:12 - 3:15 shape if I'd raced it, then later in the year did the G2E in 8:57

If you take the marathon time as 3:15 then that gives me a ratio of 2.754

So pace would be day 10 minutes a mile if you marathon pace is 8 minutes a mile…

Probably worth factoring in some element of slowing down as you might do the first half closer to 9’30 and second half more like 10’30/11

Ooh, this ratio thing sounds right up my street 🤓 I’ll make a note, and when I’m done with my big coding project (see blog) I’ll see what I can pull out of the data.

I’ve looked at the rate of slowing down for 100 milers… 76thmile.blogspot.com

And 5k pace versus 100 mile

76thmile.blogspot.com

But that was years ago

I’d be interested to see what comes out of the fetch data set
