Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’ve been loving the Facebook posts of a few friends in Chamonix the past few days. Some UK (and local Aberdeenshire) interest to follow which I’m looking forward to. Good luck to anyone here involved. What are your Predictions for the winner this year?

I think it will be the year of the American.

1st. Tollefsen
2nd. Thevenard
3rd Kyle Greig (c’mon)!

I think it will take something special to beat Thevenard. It will be interesting to watch.

You mean you aren't head-to-toe in shiny new Salomon Dave?

I really hope he avoids Rome, else he took the wrong path at the Italian border!

Dot-watching the CCC. 1400m ascent in the first 10k! That'll force a steady start.

Surprised to see that's a bonus hill for the CCC as the main UTMB course skips it

Good to see Calder Valley's Holly Page up there towards the front of the women's field, and one of the few that aren't sponsored by a major kit vendor.

Stu - that first CCC climb took me by surprise too, I didn't know about that for several months after I'd entered the race :-) I'd assumed the course just followed the regular UTMB route out of Courmayeur up to Refugio Bertone, but as you say it is in fact a seperate climb. Easy to get bottle-necked too, I've been dot-watching and I see some fast GB guys further down the field than you might expect.
