SS, spot on. I was planning to race L100 hard this year as a final swansong, wanting to be sub-30. I was expecting to be trashed for weeks after. The way training is going (or not!) it'll be a case of finishing. And probably still being the same! ![]() |

I appreciate these things are highly individual, and my only 100s are Lakeland 100s .. but I definitely didn't need 2-3 months to fully recover, let alone race well. I tapered down and then back up again, so even including the race July was a very light month - 223 total miles in July 2015 for example. Considering the pace L100 is 'run' at (ie ridiculous amounts of walking) such a long recovery period seems a bizarre. But maybe it's just me ![]() FR, if you're specifically interesting in L100, it is hard to pace evenly as the hills determine what you can run and what you should walk; I was told by a few people to treat Dalemain as halfway. In 2014, I took 13:33 from start to Dalemain and 13:23 from their to the finish; in 2015 I had 13:31/12:33 splits. I guess take it easy over the first half is my advice ![]() |

For me, Hoka sizing is same as Salomon, New Balance and Brooks, but Inov8 I go half a size smaller. It might depend on how wide your feet are though - Hokas have been notoriously narrow at the forefoot, although some of the very latest models are getting a wider forefoot last. |

Pedro, I'm the same as K5 Gus. In all my Inov8s I'm UK 6/Eu 39.5 but in Hokas I go half a size larger UK 7/Eu 40.

I think Hoka's have slightly changed in sizing. When I first got some it was advised to go half a size up. But my latest pair are a bit on the big size. If you can try before you buy.

Looks like a nice event, Mr K. Date doesn't work for me and probably beyond my navigational competence anyway, though.
