I’ve spent a lot of time up there with family, Meglet, and have been weighing up a move for quite a few years now. The other side of my family are in Fife, Kilmarnock and Glasgow; so visiting them would be much easier too. I’m really craving some space to breathe and spend time in forests and at the coast. When I visit, we’re out all day cycling or I’m running, hiking, open water swimming, sailing, kayaking, birdwatching.
I leave Bristol on Tuesday and I’ve been counting the days. The noise; the constant traffic; scooters, electric bikes, bicycles and cars on the pavements - I won’t miss it one bit!!

Every friend in Bristol bar one is moving/has moved RS, same reasons. It turned from a lovely city that had it all for people like us into a dump...
I’m finding that too . Yes - it’s had its day and I had lots of good times over the years with lovely friends, most of whom have left or are in the process of moving.

Houses are still expensive in Bristol LG and too rich for my blood, even after inheriting a house that I’ve sold. What part of Bristol is the house in?

I was over that way meeting friends recently. The high street area’s got some really useful shops and good places to eat and drink; nicely self-contained. I’ve also been speaking to people who are moving out of the centre to get bigger gardens and more for their money on the outskirts, so that’s a thing too. Places like Kingswood and Downend.

His house is in a lovely quiet street which seems to have a few older folks . Fingers crossed we can sell without too much hassle . No idea about English selling.
Hopefully you find something up in Scotland that suits your needs.

Still on the lookout for a property in Moray. I love Findhorn and it’s got everything I need. I would buy a car and look for work in Forres as the closest town. It’s expensive of course as it’s so lovely. I can either go for a flat near the sea, a 1-bed terraced eco home on the Findhorn Foundation’s estate or blow most of my money on a small detached house with a garden, which is my ideal. Lucky to have options of course but I’m 60 this year and need some savings behind me as I won’t get a well-paid job and doubt I’ll be able to save much.
Lots to weigh up. Any thoughts welcomed.

Our sale is still progressing but slowly. The bungalow at the end of the chain has gone to probate, so #5 pulled her offer 3 weeks ago. We heard this week that she's found another empty property and has had an offer accepted. Our buyers had their level 2 survey done on our house just over a week ago and we've heard nothing about that yet. I'm hoping no news is good news. The surveyor was only here for 90 minutes and we'd been advised it would take 2-2.5 hours to complete.
