22 deg in the lake. Just got an email. Think I will wear suit for buoyancy but not sure. Will be sticky to get it on and off.

Rae, I'm lucky enough to be able to see the sea from my window, so yes close enough. I always say I should make more of it. Just need to time my swims around high tide and allow enough time to be ready for work at 08:30 on weekdays. It's better to go in early before the daytrippers arrive, especially as it's half term this week. Also taking a measured risk as there's no lifeguard cover at the moment, but I know this bit of the coast well and only swim when there's no/next to no swell. |

Just a Z2 cycle yesterday and the legs have thanked me for it. I see the restrictions up here are relaxing a bit, fishing is allowed but no mention of OW swimming anyone got any info?

I have all the envy! Having grown up in seafaring (if not sea adjacent, exactly) Bristol, and then Aberystwyth and Cardiff it's very odd being so far inland (about 100 miles) now. |

OW swimming is pretty much on as far as I know from the swimming body but each venue organising swims has to ensure social distance. The individual lakes round here have implemented booking slots in advance (to keep numbers down) amongst various other measures for changing. Most are opening around now, or are already open. Or you could just wild swim (as we do in the sea) usual rules applying - meet only one other outside of household and keep 2m distant before, during and after. |

Stewart, swimming outdoors (as opposed to OWS?!) was listed last week as an activity that would be allowed under Phase1. But immediately followed by a joint announcement from TS and SS to say they didn’t condone OWS at this point. Meanwhile RNLI and Coastguard are requesting folks stay out of the sea. Our local inland swimming loch (Knockburn in Aberdeenshire) sent out a Facebook message yesterday saying they were hoping to open in a couple of weeks but they need time to get sorted for social distancing etc. I’ll see if I can link the TS/SS statements for you. |
