All good. I think I may be coming out the other side of the Zwift obsession. Or just quite tired. I'm not really doing rest days at the mo! I've set myself a goal of 400 bike miles this month and I'm thinking of doing more... Outdoors! Off to the garage for 308 - 330! |

Good ramblage PoD. Morning all. Quiet day chez Clydesdale. Drinking coffee, eating doughnuts and watching wee birds flitting about the garden feeders. Life is chilled. |

Raced the same 80k as Gobi. Good fun on a great course for it. Start not quite as ferocious (for us B’s) ended up pretty much in the main lead B’s in a group with Gobi. Rolled comfortably along until the fun began on the volcano climb. I’d drifted back (lack of concentration/course knowledge), worked hard to try and move through the now strung out group but missed Gobi and 4 others going off the front Last I saw of them, I was 7 seconds off and in no man’s land. Waited for another group and pretty much rode it out with the 4/5 of us, we tested each other but no one cracked. I was 2nd of the 5 in the sprint. That was a good sprint by my lowly standards. Have to say really enjoyed the race. It was a lot more fun, and better training than the 3x30 sweetspot I’d originally planned.... |

As TRO REPORTS 82 km race I'm nervous in these due to length and cocked my start up. Caught a group with TRO and a chap Grant I know. Chilled out until 19kms and the first 6% kicker Attacked - shelled a few including my mate Grant Chilled until volcano and attacked again, shelled all but 4 Chilled until reverse KOM and attacked again shelling all my group much to my surprise. Spent the next hour chasing the 4 riders up the road and caught them on the flat between Volcano and reverse KOM Attacked them on the KOM shelled another 4 of us to the line and I was 3rd in the sprint, went too early and popped Turned out I had caught the leaders of the B race Power numbers are excellent but wasnt at the races - however an excellent workout |

Good times, happy days! Young lad is back on the Alpe as we speak, but spinning up it in Zone2. He’s desperate for the wheels* - I’ve spawned a monster!! * MrsC’s boss is a fairly good triathlete but is a bit Billy Bullshit at times. He was telling her team yesterday about doing the Alpe in sub-40** but complaining he’d not got the wheels yet. He seemed surprised that she knew all about what he was talking about. Jamie mostly wants the wheels so that his mum can tell her boss! ** I remain suspicious of this claim, as I said he has a tendency to exaggerate and swagger. |
